Anybody help!!
I have an iMac 17" intel CD which works so great that I persuaded the in-laws to get one.
They got the C2D which naturally I had to set up.
First thing I did with it was download the OS updates, they downloaded fine on my 1mb DSL connection, but since the upgrade I've had nothing but trouble from the airport adapter.

Standing the 2 iMacs side by side, my old one gets full wireless strength while the new C2D only gets about one third.
Then testing downloads the C2d seems to be only connecting to the internet at about 20% speed compared to the older one.

I've tried switching off wep security, switching of ipv6, changing access point channels, using only 11g, changing access points from 3com to dlink but nothing seems to work.

I'm going to blast it back to the original install disk tomorrow unless anybody has got a better idea?
I dont like the idea of not applying the OS update though.

update
=====
re-install back to 10.4.7 did nothing.
Looks like this is a major issue not just iMacs but on all new macs with the new 'n' wireless card.
see here for more details
Apple - Support - Discussions - Will Apple react to the Airport problem ...
there's loads more if you look for it. Lots of people having intermittent problems which makes it difficult to pull them together as one problem.

I've temporarily got round it by using another wireless usb stick.

This is not acceptable, what would we be saying if Microsoft did something like this?

Let's start with considering how many of these cards have gotten out into the market-thousands. That means that Apple should be issuing a firmware update soon (I hope). While the card has some cool capabilities, it can't do anything if the firmware is poo, which seems to be the case.
