I am looking for a dial-up ISP that will allow me to dial up and connect through the Internet Connect preferences (rather than requiring that I load up their proprietary software and extra features a la AOL). I just want the bare basics.
Alternately, if anyone knows how to circumvent launching AOL's software and just dial + connect directly, I'd love to know. I've tried adding the phone number, username and password into the given fields in the modem connection settings, but the authentication step always fails.
