Apple is the ONLY company that I know of that still uses a separate utility to manage its wireless equipment. EVERYONE ELSE uses a browser interface so you just punch in an IP in your browser and get all the configuration options.
ALL the other brands have their pluses and minuses. I like Linksys, but anyone who can read and bothers to can manage their router/base station/access point/whatever without much problem. There are some issues with terminology (again Apple is the odd one out with this issue), but other than that, you see what the manual says about a setting and make the changes you want. It is NOT rocket science, brain surgery or even playing Scrabble®. It's more like setting up a TV for your local service.
