Life was sweet until I installed "Transmission" (a bitTorrent client) and "PeerGuardian". Now when I try and access a certain few web pages I get the error message
"Safari can’t open the page “
http://www.abc.net.au/melbourne/” because it could not connect to the server “www.abc.net.au”."
I also find that subscribed podcasts in iTunes from the same source also fail to download.
Thirdly, iCal calandars are refusing to refresh and this problem is also possibly related.
I have tried removing peerGuardian using the apple script "peerSniper". I have also removed all reference to the original two programs in the prefs folder, shut down then restarted the computer. I have also tried clearing the cache in Safari. I can assume that the problem is specific to my powerbook as my iMac on the same network isn't sharing the bad experience.
When I ping said site I get the message "*traceroute: sendto: No route to host"
Any insight appreciated.
