Here's a question I haven't asked. Does anyone know if the new Airport extreme supports WDS? I realize connecting non-n Airport Expresses will probably slow down the "n" router, but I have a relatively large area to cover and need to have remote basestations. Will the new unit be able to support remote basestations? Thanks in advance.

I don't know that it will support WDS with 3rd party routers, but there is something like WDS between Airport Extreme and Express products, so your setup should work as long as the networking hardware is all Apple.

edit: The Airport Express page still says:
Suppose you want to connect to the Internet with your MacBook in an area that lies beyond the 150-foot range of your AirPort Express or AirPort Extreme Base Station. You can use AirPort Express as a wireless bridge to extend the range of your primary base station.

Which may be an oversight, or may still be true.

Naming two generations of products the same thing is a crummy idea.

I have a set-up with Airport Extreme(g-model) and several expresses. What I was wondering is if the new Extreme(n-model) will be able to do the same thing. I have scoured Apple's info on there hardware page and have not been able to find anything mentioning WDS. It used to be quite prominent on the previous Extreme models.

I would assume the same setup will work with the new Extreme. Now if I could only find the tech docs for it.

Yeah I've been searching Apple's website too and have only found a picture of the interface on the security section of the Extreme web page. It looks like the answer to my question is no, but I can't be sure.
