A few questions for the veterans:

1) I'd like to set up a shared drive for my music. What is the possibility of using the new Airport w/ an external hard drive for this? I'm assuming if I'd be able to maintain the iTunes libraries on each Mac and just point them to the shared drive for the music.

2) Could I also do this for iPhoto?

3) Is the new Airport using USB 2.0 or just plain USB? Everything I've found so far just says USB. I guess I'm answering my own question, but maybe I haven't read the right thing.

4) Are there other routers that might be better for this?

Thanks

If you go to the online apple store and look up the Airport Extreme on the right side of the page they list system requirements and one of the them for sharing is USB 2.0 hard drive. 2.0 is pretty much the standard now for USB. I don't know if anyone still makes a USB 1.1 hard drive interface.

My main beef with this router is no gigabit ethernet which is a shame since it sounds like it will be simple to set up the external disk. But regular ethernet and N wireless may work for you.
