Hello,
just got my first ever iMac today (17" 2.0GHz 1GB RAM), very excited about it.

Anyway, i've been reading about and the Thompson Speedtouch 330 isn't supported on the intel mac. I've switched my broadband provider and a wireless router should be arriving some time....
Mean while i was wondering if it was possible to stick an ethernet wire into the back of both my iMac and my acer laptop and use the internet connection running thro the laptop on my iMac?

Thompson's page on the 330 says they support Macs... But they [url=http://www.speedtouch.com/support.htm]also say the driver for Intel Macs is "not available yet." Hmmm. Bad work, Thompson.

Anyway it should be possible to use the Internet Connection Sharing feature in Windows to share the connection from the Acer to your iMac. This is a Very Inefficient Thing of course, because your Acer laptop becomes a VERY EXPENSIVE router. But as a "make do" it should work. Follow the instructions in Windows for setting up the ICS to share the USB connection out the ethernet port and cross your fingers.

Very cool. Remember that this is a "make-do" situation. A real router is much more flexible and MUCH easier to manage and configure than ICS on either a Windows machine or Mac.
