hi there.

I have a few Airport Express stations that I use to stream music, and an old Extreme g base station.

Theoretically speaking, if I got an Apple TV and a new Extreme base station, would I still be able to use the g Express AND get full speed access to the TV?

Or, is it going to be like when g where you can't mix in b's without slowing down the network?

The "n" speed of the network will degrade when "b" or "g" devices are on the network. The overall speed won't drop completely down to the lowest speed, but it will decrease a noticeable amount.

Does the n basestation from Apple allow operation only in the 5ghz range? If so, you could keep the g network you have for the music and older devices, and create a different n network on 5ghz only for the Apple TV and newer devices. With things like the Wii still shipping with b devices, I'm betting more hi-tech homes will be creating multiple wireless networks to avoid the speed drops.

It will allow you to operate only in the "N" 5GHz range, but your "B/G" will not be able to access.

My network is set up as "N" 5GHz only and "G" 2.4 GHz only. I have printers hooked up to both and i can access the printers from either network.
