After installing the aforementioned update, I started getting kernel panics--sometimes twice a day, and in in time span two in three hours! An archive and reinstall appeared to fix the problem, and I purposely skipped the 2007-001 Airport Extreme update.

To install the 802.11n enabler, this update is necessary. I though that maybe, just maybe, the update applied again wouldn't cause trouble.

I was wrong.

This time, I saved the kernel panic log entry before doing the archive and reinstall.

I always suspected it was a Airport-related issue; the KPs came when waking from sleep and immediately after acquiring a wireless signal, or starting some networking app while on a wireless connection (any app--Adium, iChat, Firefox, etc.)

(BTW--I love this clipping feature!)

I did another archive and reinstall, again skipping the update but applying everything else. I'll post back with any more findings. I'm also going to make Apple earn their keep om the AppleCare I just bought and call them today with the problems.

Does anybody have anything to add to this? Any resolution from Apple at all?

(This is kind of disappointing--in over a year with my iBook G4, I think I can count the kernel panics on three or four fingers. I can count them on my C2D MB on on hand stil, but I've had in just over two weeks Still, despite this and the sporadic losses in signal/failure to reconnect/??? with the Airport, I'm not willing to go back to Windows. I must be stubborn )

I wasn't having any problems till today after getting the latest update. I have a linksys 802.11n router. Now, anytime I try to connect to my router, OS X crashes hard (gray faded screen, cold reboot required message). It was working beautifully before.

So strangely enough I was able to fix my problem by reconfiguring my router to use PSK2 instead of PSK....

I took my MB in to my campus tech store (which is also an Apple-authorized repair center) about 20 minutes before the Airport update 2007-002 was released I picked it up Monday 3/12 and so far no panics.
