i have been messing around with this for like 3 days. I have a macbook pro and a pc hooked up to a router (wrt54g) and i'm trying to transfer files between to computers. and its going really slow on both airport and ethernet, well on airport i get about 1.6-2MB/s. on ethernet i get 1.6MB/s. So i though pc's network card was messed up so i went and got a new one. Hooked it up and now the speed is steady cause it use to jump around from 54kb/s to 1.6mb/s and now ethernet is at 2- 2.3mb/s, airport is 3.4-3.8mb/s. can somebody tell what i'm doing wrong here. oh and the new NIC card is a gigabit , just got it for the future when i get a gigabit switch or something. i think the port on the MBP is messed up or something. and i tried this with three different routers, wrt54g v.1.1 hyper-wrt firmware, wrt54g v.5-dd-wrt firmware. and dlink wbr-2310 and samething happens on all of them.

on windows machine the hard drive was in PIO mode instead of UDMA mode, so it was writing at like 20mb/s , i just reinstalled the chipset drivers and its all good now.
