Hi guys,

I was about to buy the new Airport Extreme and wanted to know if it acts as an ADSL modem too. If not, does that mean I need to buy an ADSL modem too?
I would appreciate any input.

Cheers.

No, it does not have ADSL modem, but is dead easy to configure alongisde an ADSL router. Just run it in bridge mode.

That's exactly it. I have mine configured that way. Your modem may be cofigured using PPPoE or other protocol, but as long as the connection to the net comes from an ethernet cable, you are sure to go. You will have a small (even super-one-user-small) network and you accordingly may want to forward or map certain ports if you want to bee seen from outside (if you want to host something, ranging from files, a webpage or a game server and -why not- use PTP software).

Y no entienden nada... ¡y cómo se divierten!...
