Hi folks
I am looking for some help with my internet connection. I have a wireless network at home with my three Macs, and I'd like to add in a Linux box to the network. I am running Ubuntu 6.10 on it and have connected a crossover ethernet cable to my G4 and enabled internet sharing on this Mac.
Does anyone out there know how to receive the internet 'signal' on the Linux end?
Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

Welcome to the MacNN Forums!

Ubuntu should have no problem as long as it can use the network card you put in it.

Make sure ICS on the G4 is set up to use the ethernet port as its "out" connection and you should be fine. Or you could get a wireless card and put it into the Linux box-as long as the card has a Linux driver you should be in business.

two things..

I don't intend setting up the Ubuntu box with a wireless connection, hence the ethernet cable which is recognised by Ubuntu..

What do you mean by ICS? (forgive me if I'm being a little dense here)
