OK someone might be able to help me here.
I have a mac (macbookpro 10.4 ) with 3 network connections:
1) Main internet connection via a USB wireless network adpator
2) Machines ethernet port
3) A VPN connection back to remote network via usb wireless adaptor
I can get online for email and web etc using the USB wirless adaptor .. no problem
I can connect to anthing on the remote end of the VPN connection .. in house web server pages, computers and device IP's etc
What I want to do and have not had any luck so far is:
I have plugged a VOIP phone (hardware IP Phone) into a ethernet hub along with the MacBook pro. The macBook Pro has the same IP address range on the ethernet port as the phone so I can browse to and get to the phones configuration pages OK.
I have put the gateway IP address on the VOIP Phone as that of the MacBook pro . I though that might allow the IP phone that is lloking for the PABX server on the remote network that the VPN connects to , to get access to the remote server but it does not appear to work.
so what I need to allow is for the IP phone to access the remote VPN network. I though maybe I have to share the VPN connection with the MacBookPro's ethernet connection in internet sharing but the VPN connection does not show up there.
anyone have any ideas if this can work
thanks
