I need help adding a new airport express to mmy network. My network is not visible using airport setup assistant. I'm assuming that this is a linksys issue. So how do I add my new airport express to my network so I can stream itunes?

There's nothing about a Linksys wireless router that would keep it from being seen by your Mac. But you must be on the same subnet as the network you're connecting to, and so must the new AirPort Express. I'm betting that's the issue.

Try plugging into the Express with a cable and then, using the Network Preferences pane, renewing the IP address of your built in ethernet port. That should give you access to the Express to configure it.

I plugged it into an ethernet port on the linksys. That port doesn't show up, although the green light is on the airport express.

I'm sorry but can you spell out a little more on what I need to do to access the air express? Once I see it, is it simply a matter of going into TCP and entering the subnet mask, router etc. and should they be exactly the same as my router?

Ok, once plugged into ethernet, it came up in network setup assistant. I went through it and it seemed to autimatically plug my network numbers in. However, it listed the connection as ethernet and I couldn't figure out how to change it to wireless. I finished the set up and unplugged it from ethernet I relaunched network set assistant and tried to modify the connection type but now, since its unplugged, there is a communication error. It seems that if I can just switch the connection type from ethernet to wireless I'll be all set. Any thoughts?
