I have the same setup although mine is ran through a router. The way you would want to do this (i'm assuming that you have internet sharing on your mac turned on sharing the ethernet connection and sending it out through airport) is to go to the ps3 and search for networks. When it finds the network, select it and enter the key if you put one on. Then try that. If that doesn't work, you will have to manually assign the ps3 an ip address, put in the subnet mask maunally, and put in 2 dns servers.

I have ethernet connected to my iMac and I'm trying to internet share with my PS3 through the built-in Airport. My PS3 recognizes the IP Address but I keep getting a DNS error.

Where did you get your DNS server numbers from ceanderson?

If your dsl/cable modem has a web interface, such as by going to 192.168.1.1 or another ip address, you should be able to get them from there.
