Hi new to forum
I have just gotten a new MacBook. I have a wireless connection in my house. It is functional and WEP protected. I am funning a Vaio on it with no problems. It is a Linksys cable modem with a Netgear router.

On my MacBook, under the antenna icon on top of screen I seen the name of my wireless network. I select it and it lists Wireless Security: WEP Password. Then asks for password. Now this is where the problem comes in. What password?? Is it asking for the WEP Key. Cause I have put that in several times and it states that there was an error joining the AirPort network.

Any help? I am completly lost with my new Mac.

Thanks.

And start planning on changing to WPA right away. WEP is "poo" to use a technical term. It really is bad because it's not at all secure. WPA, on the other hand, IS secure and on top of that, there's none of this "how do I convert my AirPort password to a key for my Brand X router" or "how do I convert my Brand X router key to a password for my Mac?" because the passphrase-to-key function is part of the standard.
