I have a Macbook Pro and Powerbook G4 with a Airport Extreme and Express. My internet provider is Wildblue. My internet speed has been really slow lately and I think it started with the wireless network. So I was changing settings on the Extreme trying to get some more speed out of it, which I regret, and I think I switched it from 802.11n (b/g compatible) to 802.11n only. Now my airport utility doesn't recognize the Extreme or Express base station, but it still shows my network in the Airport drop down on the desktop, but when I select it an error comes up. I've tried turning it on and off and restarting it, but nothing has worked. I have no idea what to do now, any suggestions?

Reset it.

While it's plugged into power press and hold the little gray reset button for about ten seconds until you see the status lamp flash quickly several times. You'll then have to configure the base station again.

Also, depending on the base station settings you can configure it over Ethernet. So you could try hooking it up to your Mac over Ethernet and then seeing if AP Utility recognizes it.
