I've done a search and can't find my answer so...I'm sharing a home DSL internet connection and need to find a good router that will work will with both Mac and PCs. My family has a combination of Mac and PC users so I wanted to know if you guys can recommend a good router? I've been told that some routers aren't that great with Macs.

ANY commercially available small office/home router will work with both Macs and PCs. Some routers aren't as simple to configure as others, but I find that those are also a pain on PCs. There is NOTHING about networking that is Mac specific-it's all international standards, particularly with wired routers.

I like Linksys, but you'll hear others here say that Linksys is the devil... YMMV, but I've never had a problem using either a PC or Mac with my Linksys hardware.

Linksys has been fine for me. I use the WRT54G, purchased back in 2004 I think. Been going strong ever since.

I strongly recommend Linksys, too. Look at the WRT54G or WRT54GL. They are virtually the same, but the latter has a little more memory which allows it to be Linux-based so you can take advantage of more of the third-party firmwares available, should you so desire. Configuration is done by just firing up your browser on any connected computer and visiting http://192.168.1.1
