I have a PC home network and want to be able to join my IMac to it. The IMac presently is attached to the router and able to connect to the internet but cannot be viewed on the "My Network" on the PC because it does not have the same network name. I need to change the workgroup name in the IMac to be able to see it but am having difficulty finding where the name is listed and how to cahnge it. Could use some help.

Well depending on which version of Windows and Mac OS you have, you'll find how to share files between them by following instructions found here Windows XP - iFelix

Have a look in Utilities > Directory Access > SMB/CIFS and click on Configure.

Networking topics belong in the Networking forum. That's what it's there for.

You'd have gotten this link to step by step instructions a lot quicker.

No offense meant to a new member, but a lot of people have been posting network-related threads all over the place; the best networking answers are always in the Networking forum.
