This has happened twice in the last two days, since I did the optical drive firmware update, so I haven't been able to collect a huge amount of data about it, but it's weird enough (and happened twice, not once) so I figured I'd ping to see if anyone else has seen or heard about a similar problem (a quick perusal of Google and Apple Support finds nothing apropos).
The symptom:
Wifi is working fine. Suddenly I lose the connection with no warning or error, it just drops. When I go to reconnect, it fails ("There was an error joining that network"). Weirder still, when I use the Airport Radar widget or just click on the airport menu to see what networks it sees, both are empty. The Airport now sees 0 networks! This is not a short term problem. This persists until I restart or sleep it for a long time (presumably long enough that something resets in the Airport card/driver). Turning off and on the Airport (as a network) does nothing.
This is also provably not a wifi problem, as other people using the network are uninterrupted. And a reboot fixes the problem immediately.
Possible fixes so far:
-Reboot
-Sleeping for a long time
The question:
Am I just crazy? Has anyone else seen it?
