Shared network drive automatically on desktop ??

is it possible that any shared drive is automatically placed on the desktop without going through the connection and password steps??

Once you have the drive connected you can drag it to your login items... That will place it on your desktop when you start the computer without asking for a login - however I'm having trouble making it reappear after waking the machine up from sleep. Hopefully, one of the more knowledgeable folks can assist with that.
