Hi all,
I would like to turn my Buffalo WYR-G54 into a wired/wireless access point, but I'm having a bit of trouble working out how to do it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
PS If it is not possible with this router, could anyone recommend an alternative?

I can't get at the manual on their web site, but other stuff I've found says that this model doesn't have the appropriate "bridge" mode. Now if all you're looking for is an additional wireless access point, you can find a lot of different models that DO have a bridge mode, or just a wireless bridge by itself.

I have an option called PPPoE bridge, could that be it?
If not do you have any recommendations? wired access point is more important than wireless

PPPoE bridge is what connects YOUR network with the ISP's network. You want one that connects your internal, wired network with a wireless network. Technically, any device that connects two different networks is a bridge; an ADSL modem bridges between the provider's network (usually authenticated via PPPoE) to yours.
It's a PITA when vendors don't allow you to do everything their hardware is capable of doing-more so when it's a major function. This is a place where that's indeed the case. At least most Linksys products support something like a third-party firmware that gives you access to what the hardware can do. I can't say that for a lot of vendors.
I haven't had the time to look, but a Google search for Buffalo and "third party" might give you a lead on third party firmwares for what you have right now.
