I am new to the world of "wireless". I have an AmbiCom WL54-CF (54G Wireless CompactFlash Card) for my Windows XP tablet [actually, I am unable to speak and use, what is called an augmentative and alternative communications (AAC) device which is a Windows XP tablet]. Would the AirPort Extreme be compatible with the WL54-CF? Also, I would appreciate if any of you could list at least one or two other lower priced alternatives to the Airport Extreme from, say, Lynksis.

Thank you in advance,

I moved this to "Networking." I don't see why the Airport Extreme base station wouldn't work with your card, assuming it's a normal 802.11g card.

If it meets standards, it WILL work. Anything that gets in the way of standards (argumentative devices?) might keep it from working, but that's a different issue. XP networks very easily, OS X networks very easily; the part in between is where problems crop up, and it's almost always due to some configuration issue.

You might give us a little explanation of what "speak and use" means in this context though...
