I heard that a computer running Tiger will automatically log in to and mount a networked drive after going to sleep and waking up, but I can't seem to do this. Can anyone let me know how it's done?
I've set up a computer on my home network to just store files, and I'm using it as my backup solution and storage for many of the files I use occasionally on my Mac laptop. The computer runs BSD and the mac logs in via SMB/CIFS, even though the file system is UFS (I think). The networked computer runs freeNAS. A friend set this up, as you can tell from the way I describe the setup.
I can log in through Finder without problem, and I've dragged the networked drive on to the login items in my accounts settings in the Mac preferences, but the Mac still doesn't log in automatically after I put it to sleep and it wakes up.
Can anyone help?
I'm running a PowerBook G4, which is around 18 months old, Tiger 10.4.9 (all latest updates). The powerbook accesses the network wirelessly through a Belkin 54g router; please let me know if you need any more information to help me.
Thanks for all your suggestions.
