Back in the day, spending 3 hours trying to get something to work correctly was considered a challenge. Nowadays, it's something I'd rather avoid. That being said, I bought an Airport Extreme and had the following issues:

1) Printer (HP 4110 all-in-one) didn't work (for sharing across Extreme USB port), as I didn't see the appropriate driver in the list. I even went to the Leopard install DVD and re-installed the entire HP driver library, still not there. Some HP lit says it is supported, some didn't.

2) VPN. Strange issue here. My company has two separate VPN connections, one for email and one for network. Network seemed to work fine. Email made the VPN connection as well, but then when I launched Outlook (I tried to access via my PC laptop, not the Mac) it wouldn't connect. Not only that, but it brought the whole wireless network down and I needed to restart the Extreme each time. My network administrator said that once it makes the connection to the VPN, the rest should just work, but it didn't.

3) The range wasn't as good as my Linksys, as my iTunes streaming to a connected Airport Express wouldn't work. When I switched to having the Airport Express extend the network (versus join it), it worked fine. I can keep it in this mode, but then if I access the Express I am working at g versus n speed, correct?

Anyway, I am leaning toward returning it unless anyone has any good advice here.

Thanks,
Mike
