I've got a Linksys WRT54G router that I'm trying to set up with my 2.2GHz MacBook. The trouble I'm having is that the startup disk does not auto run on the Mac and I don't know what application to run it with so it will configure for my Mac. The Mac finds the router, but I cannot access it or reset the password or anything until I configure it with the startup disk. Please help...

no need to use the startup disk

type in 192.168.1.1 then press enter

the default user and password -- for both fields -- is 'admin'

from this html-based interface, you can configure your router.

You don't need the CD that comes with it. Just fire up Firefox or Safari and point it at either http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 (whichever works; if neither does, check the manual for the correct address). This will let you configure the router via the Web-based interface.

edit: hmm, looks like I got beat.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!
