I've been resetting the office wireless network and changing the security from crappy WEP to WPA.

I've set a new WPA password and my 15in MacBook Pro asked for the password and logged straight on.

My wife's G4 PB 12 isn't quite so happy. It WILL log onto the WPA network running from our Airport express but when i attempt to log on to the main office network i just get an invalid password response.

I was looking for some airport prefs to bin but couldn't locate any.

Does your wife's PB AirPort card have the very latest firmware (installed through an AirPort upgrade)? Also, what sort of WPA are you using? There are a number of flavors of WPA, and some of them are not necessarily supported by older AirPort cards, even with the latest and greatest firmware.

With the really small amount of information you've provided, that's the best idea I can come up with. More details are imperative; your specific wireless router (brand and model), which MBP you have, details about your WPA settings, and so on.

I just connected this thread with your other thread about setting up your AirPort Extreme to extend your network. It is CRUCIAL that we know how the Extreme is set up-your MBP probably has an AirPort card that handles WiFi Draft N, but there's no way your wife's PowerBook's card can. If the Extreme is set up for N, that's probably the issue right there.

Hello Thanks for getting back

The wireless router is a Belkin ADSL wireless G router running mixed b, my wife's Powerbook is an older 867MHz G4 12 inch with an apple airport extreme card installed. I'm using what the router describes as WPA-PSK (no server) using TKIP encyption.

I hope this helps

Andrew
