Hey guys. Ran in somewhat of a hassle during my home wireless setup. Bought an asus wireless router, plugged it in configured it and i have internet on both my PCs and my laptop(wirelessly on laptop). The thing is i want to share my printer and files. I managed to get the printer working on my PCs, but when i send something to print from my laptop, the printer starts blinking as if it would start printing but nothing happens and it eventually stops. What am i doing wrong?

On the other hand i want to share files on my network between all computers, but i want all of them to carry passwords. I have went through a tutorial on how to file share correctly(disable simple file shareing, going to users and assigning a password). Still i could access my PCs from my laptop without being asked of any password(i could, now it tells me connection failed). I think i messed things up. I have also went to start->run and a command which i forgot, and changed, allow acces to my computer(i deleted everything there). Could you explain to me this shareing thing as if i were an idiot? what needs to be enabled, ticked on my pcs and my mac? please it just worn me off trying to get it all right. Just want to share my printer on all computers and have them passworded for file shareing.
Another issue i encounter is when i set the router a password so no one can enter my network. Neither my iphone nor my laptop can connect to the network, when i have it passworded. I have hidden the SSID but i want full protection. Thanks in advance

First of all, are you running Windows or a flavor of Linux? If Windows, what version?

Is your laptop your Mac? Have tried getting new printer drivers for it?

When you set-up the password what type of encryption did you use? WEP? WPA? WPA2?

What OS are you running, both Windows and OSX?

My 2 PCs are running Windows XP SP2. My laptop has Mac OS Leopard 10.5.1 installed. My printer is a Lexmark E120, Mac OS has the driver for the "faster" one the E120n. i have tried downloading a driver for mac, from the lexmark site, but it installs some kind of software, markvision pro client, so nothing useful there. About the encryption, i have tried all of them, WEP,WPA and WPA 2. nothing. the driver from my router is up-to-date. The printer is connected through LPD with the ip set as my router's ip(it's plugged in the router's usb port), the queue name is the one that the user manual told me to use and the driver is selected from the mac os list. i have also tried the generic printer driver but with that the printer does not even move. when the e120n driver is selected, the printer start ventilating and rotating the paper rolls but nothing prints, it just stops.
Also with file sharing i haven't been able to figure it out.
thanks
