Good Morning All,

New to the forum, and eagerly seeking assistance. Recently got Uverse and was loving it. Have a iMac G5 PowerPC running Mac0S X 10.4.11

Then about a week ago I started getting the every 5 minute drops with access only available on reboot (as described by others with other routers).

Yesterday I started getting the dreaded "Error Joining the Air Port Network XXX" -- have visited a number of forums and tried erasing keys, re-entering WPA passwords, run key repair, using airport setup assistant -- all with the same error happening.

Sadly, the work PC Laptop is working fine. AT&T Uverse router is behind a screwed in access panel in the wall. I opened it once and all lights are green and PC, TV and Phone are working fine.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Use AirMoose (or similar) to scan for wifi points on the same or adjacent channels. Change your wifi router's channel if your scan detects this.

Uverse (your broadband connection itself) should have absolutely no bearing on your wireless network. However, the Uverse router could easily be a problem. Do you have administrative access to the Uverse router? That's something to check out-whether it's still running the wireless network at all, what channel it's on, and so on. If you don't have that sort of access, CALL AT&T's TECH SUPPORT and have them come out and fix it.

Then, as Cold Warrior says, see if there are other networks in the area that are on adjacent channels. Most networking hardware defaults to channel 6 or 7 (the middle of the band). And most people just leave their routers there-along with leaving the default network name and password in place, but that's a different issue.
