Hi all, I am using an airport express as a router and I can't connect to it via Airport Utility (in applications/utilities folder in Leopard). The message says "...unable to find any Airport Base Stations. Please...."
I desperately need to get in and make a setting change. I tried from a PC using the Airport Express Utility, and that just gives an error message of -4.

I have tried a hard rest and soft reset of the brick but no luck there. The strange thing is that the Express is still working as a router, even after a reset. Makes no sense. Please help...
thx

This happens to me from time to time as well. Try connecting directly to it over Ethernet. If that doesn't help, try restarting your Mac.

Thanks CW, i figured out that u can use FILE on the airport utility menu to say "configure other" and just type in the IP address and password for the router (airport express) and the same config screens show up. Who would have thought? So it's more of an annoyance then a problem now. I wonder if it's a sign of impending doom for a 3 year old AE. ha! I thought it might be that the device was set to be undiscoverable (one of those wifi options) but it's not. The PC version of the utility chokes using above methoud, but instead of error message -4 now, its barfing on a correct password. Wowsa.
