Mini 10.5.2
I have a linksys network in my house with WEP. so do several neighbors....
I have added my network to the list, added to the key chain. Should always be there right... Nope Everytime I come back to the mini it's hooked up to the neighbors network. Mine isn't listed as an option - so i have to rejoin, go find the 24 char pw.

How do i set this machine up to it doesn't see or connect to ANY other network but the one i designate?

Sys Prefs > Network > Airport and uncheck "Ask to join new networks"

and

Sys Prefs > Network > Airport > Advanced and uncheck "Remember any network this computer has joined".

Also, remove your neighbor's network from the list of preferred networks.

Consider changing from WEP to WPA. WEP is almost like having nothing at all.

I think it's worse...

kschuster, do you have your card set to connect to preferred networks? Is YOUR network at the top of that list?

I changed my settings as you suggest. Still when I come back to the computer my network is gone and the only one it finds is my neighbors. I have to manully connect and type in the wep key. I don't understand why it's doing this. Isn't this pretty basic stuff?

Change the network's name; make sure SSID is on; change encryption to WPA; change your password to something shorter - four characters, easy to remember, until you've sorted out the issues.
