Hi there. I have had to help move an office into another one.

The server for the office is a OSX server 10.2.8 on an old G3.

The machine is working fine, but I am having a problem with getting it on the network.

It is plugged into the network switch and same as the rest of the machines.

If I assign it to acquire a DHCP address, it gets one on 172.16.1.99 That is about right as the modem is giving out 172.16.1.x address. I can see it on the network on my machine running leopard it shows up in the finder, but I can not connect to it or ping it.

If I go into sharing in system prefrances it has the IP address listed up the top as 172.16.1.44 not 99. If I click on the IP address I can switch it between 44 and 99.

I assume this has something to do with my problem. Any ideas?
