OK, Verizon just gave me the option to upgrade to 15mbp/s, but unfortunately they do not have the software to support adjusting my settings. I tried Broadband Optimizer 1.5, but after running a check in Terminal, I am still running at 5mbp/s.

Anyone have any ideas? Software recommendations?

I assume you're connected directly via Ethernet cable to your modem?

Have you disconnected/reconnected your internet connection/restarted your modem?

Yes and Yes. I reset the router and unplugged from the computer, then I completely unplugged the router for 20 seconds. No change.

As for the other thread ou pointed me to, wasn't quite English to me.

Yes and yes. I completely unplugged the router for 20 seconds and tried; reset router and tried; unplugged cable from Mac and tried.

As for the link you provided, it wasn't quite English to me.

Does your router have an option for "traffic shaping"?

If so, turn it off.
