I'm trying to decide whether to get a D-Link DIR-655 GigE router or an Apple Aiport Extreme Base Station. One problem with the AEBS is that it isn't clear that it supports Jumbo frames. There are differing opinions on this subject:

I'm mainly interested in gigabit wired networking (not wireless) so that I can attach a ReadyNAS Duo device. The more fully-featured D-Link DIR-655 definitely has jumbo frames:

The disadvantages I can see to the DIR-655 mainly involve wireless operation:

1. It only operates in the 2.4 Ghz band
2. It seems to have poor wireless performance at a distance, as per this Ars Technica review:

I guess that if 802.11n networking became important in the future, I could always add an Airport Express unit in bridge mode.

Since I don't need an airport disk or printer sharing, there isn't really any reason to prefer the AEBS, is there? Ah, one last thing: the AEBS pretty much doesn't require any configuration with iChat thanks to NAT port mapping -- I'm not sure about the DIR-655.
