I've currently got a D-Link DIR-655 Xtreme N router, which in hindsight was way to expensive considering how it's performed, and I'm looking for something new. I've had this one for about a year and nothing but problems. At first I was led to believe it kept crapping out because of too many simultaneous connections, but lately it's been getting dodgy and dropping the connection while uploading single files over about 2mb, even when nothing else is using the connection. I'm looking for something with wireless N, good coverage for a reasonably sized 2 bedroom apartment, but also with a wired connection so I can plug in my Xbox 360. I'm going to have an iMac and a MacBook running wirelessly. Any suggestions?

The Airport Extreme Base Station seems relatively well recommended, but it's not on the low end of the price range.

The TRENDnet TEW-633GR is pretty popular and well reviewed, for about half the price of the Airport Extreme.

Overall 802.11n routers are still relatively poor compared to the mature 802.11g routers; nothing like the WRT54G has emerged for the 802.11n market.

I personally prefer the linksys brand, although they're owned by Cisco.

I would HIGHLY recommend the D-Link DGL-4300. It's a fantastic wireless router w/ 10/100/1000 (gigabit) ethernet on it. I've got 1 PC, 1 windoze laptop, 1 imac, 1 Powerbook, Lingo VoIP, Nintendo Wii and XBox 360 all connecting through it and have never had a problem. My home is about 3000 sq. ft over 3 floors, I've got it placed on the 1st floor and have no signal issues at any point in the house.
