Hi,

I can't network my 2 macs. I used to be able to,
before I installed Leopard.

I've got an intel powermac and a 17 inch G4 powerbook.
Both with airport cards.

I get this message on both computers:
The server may not exist or it is not operational
at this time. Check the server name or IP address
and your network connection and try again.

Anybody had similar problems? Any help greatly appreciated.

I've moved your thread to our Networking forum.

To answer your question, make sure file sharing is enabled on both machines and that you've enabled sharing on a drive or folder. You don't mention if you are going through a router or a direct connection or what. A little more detail about your setup and what you've tried to do may help.

Steve
Guess I finally got that fifth star!

Steve - I used to be able to see the hard disc of the other machine on the desktop.
But now all I can get is a public folder with a drop box which can't be accessed anyway.

I've got airport extreme, and both computers access the internet via this and a router.
The desktop machine is connected via ethernet to the airport. Internet connection is fine.
I just can't get the computers to talk to each other any more.

Things seem to have become more complicated now. "Make sure file sharing is enabled on
both machines." Does this mean going to system preferences>sharing>file sharing? If so,
I've done all this. Still no joy. Aaargh.
