I am trying to decide between the Sierra 595U usb modem and the v740 expresscard. Form wise, I prefer the expresscard, as it seems less obtrusive and I would like to use the expresscard slot for something. Searching online, it seems like the Sierra has better reception, and I will be using it in the boonies (though within the coverage area) frequently. Any experience or recommendations? Thanks.

I'd go with the Sierra; better coverage and more of the port that it needs available, plus you can use it with your MacBook or iMac should the opportunity arise and you may find you want to put something else in the ExpressCard port like a card reader or eSATA controller.
