I have got a strange problem. I am in abroad now and i took my computer (macbook, 10.4.11) with me.

I am studying a school here for a few months and I need internet connection, so I asked computer technician here at school, he gave me the password, so I can connect to the internet at school, but it is not comfortable and I cannot be connected after 9 PM. So I asket to my host family about their wireless connection, they agreed and gave me the password too, so I can "connect" (<-the problem) to the internet in my host family. BUT in my host family I can only use Mail (an application by apple, xou know) Adium, Skype etc but I CANNOT use safari and mozila firefox there... "connection timeout"...do you know what`s going on in wifi in my host family? I need yout advices, thanks for them.

thats interesting.
i heard there is a difference between the internet connections (school and home) and something there could cause it.
hopefully someone else has further detail about it
