For the life of me, I cannot remember what to do after plugging in the cable. Last time I did this was a couple of years ago.

One system has Leopard, one has Tiger. The Tiger system doesn't have airport.
I like my water with hops, malt, hops, yeast, and hops.

Is it more complicated than connecting both with an Ethernet or FireWire cable and then using Bonjour to network like
ssh theOtherMac.local
afp://theOthermac.local

Firewire target mode?

guess it depends on what kind of macs too

I usually just turn on AFP and off after I am done.
