Okay here is my situation. A friend of mine bought a new airport express. We hooked it up in their home. They have a Dell desktop computer without a wireless card, a Dell laptop with a wireless card, and a MacBook. To allow all computers on the internet we got a 5 port switch and went ethernet cable from modem to switch and then from switch to airport express and switch to Dell desktop. Restart everything and laptops work fine but the desktop does not work. However the airport express is flashing amber but wireless internet is fast. So, I use another new ethernet cable for the desktop computer but still no internet. Then I bypass the switch and go from modem to desktop and I get internet again. Why is the switch preventing the desktop from getting the internet, while the laptops work great? Also, why is the airport express flashing amber but works fine? Please, any suggestions? Is there a setting in a PC to recognize the switch? I am lost. Thanks
