time capsule error backing up

Hi, I have a 5 month old time capsule, and today it fails to back up, saying "an error occurred while creating the backup directory". I read some threads here, and have erased my TC, but it still has the same problem. I have also unplugged and re-plugged the TC. Can anyone help me please?
