VNC
Okay... My boss has a static IP address and he wants to be able to send and receive files from our server at work to and from his home computer I've looked into Chicken of the VNC and it seems that you can only control the computer and you cannot send and receive the files. These are the only functions that I need...seeing, sending, and receiving files to and from a server. Anyone have any ideas?

I know mac's fairly well and have a bit of networking knowledge, but I'm by no means a professional or advanced. We have a Arris cable modem and a d-link wireless router that connects to the server as well as all of the computers in the building to the internet. Any help would be very appreciated!

I'd help if you let us know what OS you're both using?

If both are on OS X or some other form of *nix, you can create an ssh tunnel and use normal networking services. Sounds much more complicated than it actually is.

VNC is for sending and recieving the GUI. Sending and receiving files is file sharing.

There's a Connect To Server command in one of the Finder menus.

VPN available ?
If not, I would highly recommend it.

Or the Pro version of LogMeIn, which offers VPN + file sharing.
