Ok so this is the 2nd time in about 3 weeks that this has happened and is NOT fixing the way I always manage to fix it...I have my cable router connected to the airport express and on my MACBOOK, my network is not visible...If i manually type in what network to join, eventhough mine is NOT showing on the "available network list", it attempts the connection then says "connection timeout." I have tried resetting the express, my leaving it unplugged then plug it in, which usually has helped any connection issues in the past, but it still is not working...
Any suggestion??? Thanks..
By the way, my airport is configured using my home PC....thanks for any input...

Are you hiding the SSID (wifi network's broadcast name)?
Are you using encryption, WEP, WPA, WPA2?
Does Software Update show any Airport updates for either your Mac or the Airport Express?

No, not hiding anything...And yes, using WEP...So when i manually type in my network name to join, it tells me i need a password, which i then type in...And no, software update doesn't indicate any updates.

Disable WEP (use no encryption) and see if that helps with the MacBook finding and connecting. This is just a troubleshooting step; we can turn encryption back on later.
Does your PC support WPA or WPA2?

Well when I got the express about 3 years ago, my friend helped me set it up and put the password protection on it. But I have no idea what the wep or wpa are, so not sure if my pc supports wpa or wpa2 to be honest with u. I don't even know what it is. Is it better?

Definitely better. WEP is worthless as encryption. It is trivial to break. WPA is good but WPA2 is better. If your PC is relatively recent it probably supports WPA/WPA2.
Take a look at Apple's instructions on resetting the Airport Express if you don't remember the password your friend used.

I second WPA2. WEP is a joke and WPA is now officially broken. If you want encryption, you want WPA2.
