Hi guys,
my parents have a G4 mini and after much arm pulling I finally got them to switch off of PeoplePC dial up (yes, it still exists) to a cable modem. Problem is, the location of the cable modem means I need to get wireless on their G4 mini. Already got a wireless router to hook to the cable modem, but don't want to shell out for an original airport card for the mini.

Think it'd be possible to connect the mini to the network with a wireless gaming adapter...like the Linksys WGA54G? I haven't found anyone who does it, but seems like it's meant to transparently connect a thingy meant for wired ethernet to a wireless network. It's a Madmax way to do the job, but the WGA54G's cheap, driverless and readily available, unlike the usb adapters that claim to support os x.

I guess the next best option would be the wireless usb adapter from Belkin, but seems like the os x support is awfully sketchy, when it works at all. Anyone done this? The parents are on 10.4 and don't need Leopard anytime soon.

A wireless gaming adapter should work just fine.

Much appreciated. Guess I'll have to take your word for it.
I chickened out and bought a Belkin F5D9050 ...works fine with 10.5 and the Ralink driver. (1.4.8.0) . Bestbuy's site said it was 10.3 and 10.4 compatible, though the box doesn't say so and there are no os x drivers on the cd.

But damn, I hate going to sketchy sites (which sorry, Ralink, you site seems to be) to get drivers. But it works, so whatever.
