Although it worked in the past, I am currently having a problem file sharing between my PowerPC G5, Leopard 10.5.6 : Powerbook G4, leopard 10.5.6 : and PowerPC G4, Tiger 10.4.11. I have checked all the setup requirements, researched Apple Support and looked various places for a solution but have not found one. When trying to connect from the PowerPC G5 to the Power PC G4, I get a message that says "The finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "afp://10.0.1.5" could not be read or written" (Error code-36). I thought it might be a problem with 10.5 and 10.4 but the system does not recognze the Powerbook. Help on this will be appreciated.

What folder are you trying to copy and what permissions does this folder have?

besson3c, I am not trying to copy a specific folder. I am trying to get the computers to recognize each other so that I can transfer various items such as documents between them. I am using Airport Extreme 802.11g which is working OK for printer sharing.

True, but you have to set up sharing on a particular drive or folder and set up read/write access for users to access the contents in that drive or folder.

Not if he just logs in as a user on that machine - then he will have access to all the files and directories that user can see.
