I just purchased a MacBook and AirPort Express and have a cable modem. I know that you have to connect AirPort Express to the modem via ethernet cable, but what do I do if the only open port on my modem is a USB port? I'm pulling my hair out, please help!

You call whoever sold you the modem and have that piece of crap replaced by something that's actually useful for connecting to computers that AREN'T from the Windows 98 era.

You will be far better off with a modem that is ethernet. The cable co's local office (if they have one) may just have one you can exchange yours for. If not, they'll have to mail you one.
