for the last few weeks whenever i plug in my mc950d, it's powered by the usb port & detects a cell signal, but when i click to connect i get this message: "The selected communication device does not exist. Please verify your settings and try again." and the same thing happens if i open system preferences > networking and try to connect there.
anyone know what to do to solve this?

But it worked before? If so, check your drivers.

yes, it worked before.
how would i go about checking my drivers?
i double clicked the driver install file again and ran through the install process a few days ago to see if it made a difference. nope, no difference.

i tried reinstalling the drivers again. no luck.
so i followed the uninstall instructions and dragged the driver files to the trash.
how do i go about removing the modem from the list of network devices?
i want to uninstall it completely before reinstalling and trying again but i have no idea how to remove it... as i don't know what the osx equivalent is to windows' add/remove programs/hardware is...

I hate to ask, but does it work in Windows?

Boot Camp?
It's a sensible troubleshooting step that will help eliminate possibilities. Or you could just jump to the conclusion that the modem needs to be replaced.

Has anyone solved the problem. I think got the same problem
This product previously worked 100% on the PC (windows).
If anyone can please provide an explanation why this modem when plugged into PC only flashes red. Power is received from PC because the modem's light goes on and flashes red the whole time, but it does not go further through the usual color changes. The PC also pick up the modem when plugged in, but recognises it only as a unknown USB device.
