I am trying to determine if adding 2 printers to support 3 PC's is possible via using a print server.

Working Network is currently:
FIOS actiontec to AE (functions as bridge)
1 PC ethernet to actiontec
1 macbook wireless to AE
1 PC wireless to AE

I want to insert 2 printers to be reached by all 3 computers. One printer is an HP inkjet w/ usb port and the other is an HP laserjet w/ network card and w/ parallel port.
I was thinking of adding a print server such as D-link DP-300u because of its multiple ports and both OS-X and WinXP compatible. Is this possible to configure?
Do I link the D-link to the actiontec or to the AE?
Thanks for help.

Plug the inkjet into the AE. Plug the laserjet into any available ethernet port. Viola.

The laserjet is a parallel connection. Can it be linked via ethernet?

This is a rather direct way of reminding the OP that a printer with a network card does not need a print server. Plug the LaserJet's network card straight into the local router (there's a little setup involved, but HP tends to be pretty good about providing manuals and such...).

Please note that the AE is linked to Actiontec router. One PC is ethernet linked to Actiontec router. I don't think just plugging the printers into AE solves my problem. I plugged inkjet w/ USB port into AE. How do I get the ethernet linked PC to communicate w/ inkjet printer?
Thanks.

AE into bridge mode, which you should have been doing all along.

Yes. It is in bridge mode. The wireless linked computers see the printer. Should the ethernet linked PC also see the PC? What sequence of commands do I need to do w/ Windows to get it to read the printer?

For future reference for others. Sometimes Bonjour for Windows on the PC doesn't pick up a new printer added to LAN port on Airport Extreme which is what happened in my case. So here is solution which for us non tech people might be of assistance.

Also if using a networked laserjet like myself you must assign an IP address prior to Adding the Printer. See particular printer's instructions for this. In my case it was an HP laserjet that is explained on the following link >> http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...pj02326#N1087F

For case where Bonjour for Windows doesn't see the new network printer - use the instructions found here
>> http://tech.ifelix.net/1004.html
and then Bonjour should see it. It may not matter because the printer will still be networked.

Good luck to all.
