i want to be able to watch movies off of my external hard drive wirelessly and i think the airport extreme is my best solution. i do have a few questions, however. 1) will the extreme have enough bandwidth to support wireless movie watching without lagging. 2) i noticed on the apple website that if you want to do wireless printing your printer must support this feature, but isn't all the printer needs is a usb connection? (i have a HP Photosmart C4480 if that makes any difference) 3) is there a cheaper alternative to the airport extreme, obviously i'd like to save a few bucks if possible.

1) Yes. Use VLC and make sure you have adequate cache size. Even HD is no problem.

2) No. There is some bridging going on and the AP Extreme needs to know how to bridge to a specific printer.

3) Sure there are. There are also many cheaper alternative that suck. Wi-Fi users “can’t go wrong” with new Airport Extreme
