i have a netgear WGR614 v6 wireless router that i have configured for static IP for the PC laptop work provides and my personal macbook.
my PC is consistently receiving the same IP and has since i configured this about a year ago; however, the macbook consistently receives a different IP than the statically assigned IP on the router. has anyone else run into this behavior? is there anything on my macbook i can do to mitigate the problem? i don't think it is solely, if any, the fault of the macbook as i will receive duplicate IP warnings when it wakes from sleep. but i have tried static IP with DHCP and it fails as well.
just wanted to get some seconded (on up) opinions, if possible, on if it is solely a router problem (like when all wireless connectivity is dropped for all devices connected) or if there is a setting i can do to make my static IP work.
thanks!
